This hike to Steven's Lake is breathtaking. A two mile drive south of
Mullan brings you to the trailheads for Steven's and Lone Lake.
The trailhead to Steven's lake begins with a semi strenuous hike up a forested
pathway, into a beautiful flowered meadow. After crossing over logs which bridge
a rushing stream, and a more rigorous climb to the next falls, you will reach the breathtaking splendor of
Steven's lake. The sound of the wind rushing through the canyon from
below makes you think that mother nature herself is speaking out to you.
This is a great one day hike, but there are limited camping sites.
Be sure to make reservations with Lookout Motel before setting out on your hike,
and the next day plan on taking the hike to the old Sunshine Mine or to
Lone Lake.
